Public Transport

In The Netherlands there are many types of public transport that are available and in most cases are very reliable. You will find links to the public transport companies that operate around the country.

Connexxion Connexxion operate in mainly in the RandStad and south Holland.
Dutch Rail (NS) Holland's national rail company and on this site you will find timetables, prices, and other information.
GVB The GVB operate in Amsterdam and runs the trams, busses, the metro and water ferries.
HTM HTM are a public transport company operating mainly in The Hague and theHaaglanden region. The important information on this site is in Dutch but you can navigate to these areas using the English section.
RET Operates the metro, bus and tram system in Rotterdam.
Travelplanner An excellent site which gives advice on how to get from A to B anywhere in Holland on public transport.
Strippenkaart This is a long cad which you can stamp in the bus, tram or metro in order to travel around the city. You can buy this card at the supermarket, corner store or at the machines situated at the metor stations.
